Introduction
Hello NoteKnights! It's been a few months since our last major update, back in June, when we introduced AutoScribe, our AI-powered flashcard generator. Since then, we’ve been hard at work, adding new features, welcoming 1,100 new users, and seeing over 800 flashcard sets created. Today, we’re excited to unveil our latest feature—the Flashcard Matching Game!
We started developing this early on in NoteKnights journey but it ended up on the back burner while we prioritized other things. After gathering feedback from the community, we knew it was time to finish it. A lot of love was put into its design and we are happy to deliver you an enjoyable and optimized experience that we felt our competitors fell short on.
What Stands Out
There are similar games available on other sites but we wanted to go the extra mile and make ours truly better. Here's how we set it apart:
- Complete Card Coverage: Our game ensures you review all your material through a round-based playthrough. You can choose to study your cards sequentially, or if you prefer a bit of randomness, we've added a shuffling algorithm to mix it up while still ensuring you see every card.
- Grid Layout: Each round, six flashcards are displayed on the screen (12 total, front and back). To maintain uniformity while still allowing full visibility, we enabled overflow scrolling, so that even content-heavy flashcards fit seamlessly into the grid.
- User Experience: We paid a lot of attention to animations and colors, making sure feedback was enjoyable and non-distracting. Our play testing suggests we got the mix just right!
- Performance Tracking and Encouragement: At the end of each round, we display your accuracy and at the end of the game give you an overall performance score. You'll receive fun feedback each round based on your scoreᅳwhether you crushed it or need a little more practice, there's always something positive to keep you motivated.
- Modern Study Music and Sound Effects: We give you full control by allowing you to toggle music and sound effects independently. We even added a media player, allowing you to skip tracks and adjust volume to suit your study session perfectly!
These enhancements give our game the edge over the competition and packed together really turned out as the fun and effective study tool we envisioned.
Growth and Community
In my last update, I mentioned our focus on growth through content creation. I'm excited to report that our new blog has been a success! We've published several high-quality posts that have received a lot of great feedback. This strategy is already helping NoteKnight reach a broader audience so we plan to continue delivering new and interesting content.
What’s Next
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll soon begin development on flashcard images! We’ve received countless questions on how to add images to flashcards, and we’re committed to delivering this feature. It’s a bit more complex than it sounds, but rest assured, we’re hard at work to make it happen!
Stay tuned, and thank you for being a part of the NoteKnight community!
